Very interesting indeed.

I playtested the deck a couple of times meanwhile and realized, that a combo with three permanents struggles against board interaction such as Prismatic Ending, spot removal like Fatal Push or Lightning Bolt, you name it. However the deck consistently won at turn three most of the times.

I replaced two Thran Vigil and two Melira, Sylvok Outcast with four copies of your suggested First Day of Class and will test its capabilities.

What are your thoughts on First Day of Class as an instant-speed persist combo enabler? It's harder to predict and remove, but it also requires on the turn you go off. I've been messing with it in Pauper, and it seems to work well there, mostly for lack of other options.

Suggestions

First although not necessarily required id cut white. First Day of Class will work for counters.

Instead run a Goblin Engineer package with maybe 2 other wincons. Urza's Saga and Grind Stone + Painter's Servant

Additional threats could be Dragon's Rage Channeler card selection and flyer or something that enters with +counters maybe Arcbound Ravager and add a Inkmoth Nexus.

Karn, the Great Creator also provides a win vs other artifact based combo decks.

I've been away from the game for a bit, not sure if this is late, but I'd check out older birthing pod lists for ideas - getting the combo lines to stick took some messing about. Vanafar is only sort of birthing pod- 'untap creature' or 'blink+haste' does make options.

The main thing I'd expect to see in here is Corridor Monitor with mana dorks and haste options. Something like First Day of Class or similar have secondary combo lines that can help smooth out the deck by allowing 'vanafar into combo' rather than having to flood the board to get it to stick.

Its a question of threat density, and the line you need to get the win - thats always the battle with combo. As is, this tries to go 3 drop + Vanafar or neoform, wait a turn (dodging sorcery speed removal), combo off.

Look for tools to protect the pieces, let you skip the waiting, speed up finding your pieces, or bait that combo then go off with another.

((Cathars' Crusade or First Day of Class or Celebrity Fencer or Hamletback Goliath)) + ((Elemental Mastery or Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker or Splinter Twin or Krenko, Mob Boss or Thraben Doomsayer)) + Intruder Alarm goes infinite for tokens and +1/+1 counters. There's no particular synergy with Hinata, Dawn-Crowned, though.
