No actual leaks in the thread, people!

Where to find...

Kudo, King Among Bears seems pretty fun, although I hope there's going to be more bear kindred support. Since he affects all creatures, stuff like Alpha Status and OG Norn works. And They Shall Know No Fear is Heroic Intervention at home, and Roaming Throne works for all of your creatures. Go-wide tokens seems like it would work, as would 0/0 creatures like Kalonian Hydra. Might be worth looking into the EDHREC cards for the two selesnya cat legends from Lost Caverns of Ixalan?

Herigast, Erupting Nullkite Kinda feel like an Emerge commander would be black and/or green instead? IDK how to abuse this either, red doesn't have that many good "overcosted" creatures like Avatar of Fury.

Null Elemental Blast: yeah this is really good in EDH, where every random utility land taps for .

Final Act: playable experience counter hate in EDH.

DreadKhan on thantis and the boys

I don't think Thantis should leave home without Rite of the Raging Storm, this way everyone has stuff to swing as your opponents, but nobody has extra vs you, but it also should work with Garruk's Uprising. Akroan Horse is another so-so source of bodies that get better with supporting buffs. I am always surprised at how much work War Cadence can do in a meta with lots of attacking, it can even play like a Stax effect if the board is pretty big, because you can turn any swing into an unblockable one at instant speed. Mask of Griselbrand is a pretty impressive equipment in practice, Flying is great evasion, Lifelink is a great ability on a large creature and that much card draw can change a game's outcome very easily.

If you're looking seriously at cards like Assassinate, I feel I should point out that it's a Sorcery and has targeting limitations. If you want to run sorcery speed removal then I strongly recommend Make an Example and Phyrexian Purge, both of those are quite a bit better. I think you could also look at Beast Within and Road / Ruin, both are very useful spells, offering versatility of effect.

Have you drawn Nikya in many games yet? I feel like with only 31 creatures in the 99 that you'll not want to cast him very often, it'll interfere with your other spells.

I'm not sure that Dragon Whelp is a very reliable Commander card, it's not that much less mana than a Shivan Dragon, and it's a much worse card. I would note that most people who play Shivan Dragon in Commander are playing it as a pet card, there are other better cards you could play. I think you could just play something like Avatar of Fury even, it's janky but it's very easy for it to cost 2 mana later game, or maybe Cavalier of Flame if you want something pricier.

Since Thantis can get pretty big, I suspect anything like Return of the Wildspeaker or Rishkar's Expertise would be pretty solid in here.

I'm not sure how much of a target Thantis ends up being, but Angel's Trumpet is a nice back up option that does something similar.

multimedia on Zagras and the Dethtouch Party

Hey, you're welcome.

There's 12 rogues here for the party, but only 5 clerics, 4 Warriors and 1 Wizard. These ratios of party members will make it difficult to have much mana cost reduction for Zagras especially Wizards. My advice is make these numbers more even to give you more chances to have different party members on the battlefield at once. Changeling Outcast is a budget one drop party member who can be any creature type you choose for party and it's unblockable which has good interaction with several tribal combat damage effects.

Budget Wizards to consider adding:

There's some party members who could be upgraded to better budget creatures especially the Warriors:

Blood Beckoning could be upgraded to Nullpriest of Oblivion who is a two drop Cleric or if you cast with kicker you can reanimate any creature in your graveyard. Beckoning doesn't reanimate it recurs the creature/creatures to your hand which is a big difference. Searing Barrage could be upgraded to any Wizard party member because this removal spell is not needed as it's the least good and costs the most mana for what it does.

Some cards to consider cutting:

Pump spells that only pump one creature one time such as Infuriate are subpar in Commander especially when you can only cast them once. If the spell pumped all creatures you control, protected the creature from removal or it made the creature have huge power with evasion then that's different, but the pump spells here don't do that. More draw is more impactful than pump.

You might consider some cheap replacements: Vivid Creek , Vivid Marsh , Vivid Crag and Vivid Grove instead of Dismal Backwater , Jungle Hollow , Rugged Highlands and Swiftwater Cliffs for extra mana-fixing (which is needed in a 4-color deck). Also: Llanowar Wastes , Yavimaya Coast and Shivan Reef are cheap untapped lands. // You might consider Farseek , Sakura-Tribe Elder , Explosive Vegetation and Circuitous Route for further ramp. Farseek can grab Sunken Hollow , Smoldering Marsh or Cinder Glade , while Circuitous Route can search for Simic Guildgate , Izzet Guildgate and Golgari Guildgate . // You might run Fact or Fiction , Steam Augury and Ancient Excavation for early card draw and graveyard filler for delve cards, like Murderous Cut , Dig Through Time and Tasigur, the Golden Fang (they all got reprinted). Brainstorm and Painful Truths are also great draw spells. // Izzet Charm , Crosis's Charm and Sultai Charm are really versatile removing threats. They could replace Scour from Existence . // Zendikar Resurgent is a mana-doubler, which can fuel big Comet Storm , Blue Sun's Zenith , Pull from Tomorrow , Exsanguinate and Curse of the Swine . // Since you are playing expensive spells, Deep-Sea Kraken , Combustible Gearhulk , Avatar of Fury , Avatar of Woe , Primeval Protector , Sunbird's Invocation , Metallurgic Summonings are great ways to deal a lot of damage.

A55Destroyer69 on The Fat Red Line - Purphoros EDH

one better on Fellwar Stone would be Mind Stone . The difference between them is that fellwar will quite possibly be tapping for, essentially, colourless mana and that's it. Mind Stone , on the other hand, will tap for colourless mana AND can draw you a card if you start to flood. This cannot be done with Fellwar Stone , and since you have 36 lands that add R in some way, you're probably never going to need it to tap for ...

Also, there's a bunch of stuff in the deck that either isn't needed or there's far better substitutes -

Some cards you may want to put in the deck instead would be:

or, for a less budget-friendly approach:

By the way, Insurrection and similar effects steal your opponents' creatures, and then, unless the opponent has an Avacyn . This basically means that you get to steal all of your opponents' creatures, and then destroy them ALL (from targetting yourself with Mogg Infestation ) and then that's almost always a "I win the game" synergy.

Zealous Conscripts is an infinite combo piece with kiki , since his ability is unconditional, meaning your stuff, your opponents' stuff. you basically get infinite mana if you have an Ashnod's Altar out, and you also deal infinite damage with Purphoros out.

kiki-jiki is just generally great in Purphoros EDH , since you can copy your Emrakul's Hatcher , SG Commander or Solemn Simulacrum (also thins deck and draws cards) each turn.

Vandalblast is generally good removal in red decks, as it's a one-sided artifact wrath, and if not it's just a Shatter , which is still not bad. Fiery Confluence is kind of the better-but-worse version of this, as it's more versatile, treated as a pyroclasm effect, or as additional pings from purphoros , or as artifact removal, just...less.

Solemn Simulacrum is generally decent - gets a land out of your deck, draws a card when it dies. Not much bad.

Panharmonicon is AMAZING!!! basically, you play an emrakul's hatcher and you get 2 triggers, giving you +1 mana potetial, and then you got 7 creatures into play, so that's 7 triggers from purphoros... but he's also ETB, so you get 14 triggers

-> that's 28 damage from 5 mana

Goblin Warrens isn't really that amazing, but you basically get +1 goblins, and 3 triggers for , which can just slowly eat at your opponents' life totals.

Empty the Warrens is also kind of similar, as you'll only ever really be playing it for 6-8 goblins, but that's still a solid 12 damage for 4 mana (value).

Kher Keep is quite similar, as I find with my deck that there are often better options at hand (literally. hehe...), but it is still, I guess, an emergency situation, last stand sort of thing, where you have just such dead draws, and so you just get to ping for each turn.

If you feel like your deck still doesn't get to a comfortable position with its mana, you can consider the following:

These cards will surely help you out. Although Gauntlet of Power will also potentially benefit your opponents, should you really care if they're just going to die in a few turns? Probably not. For just less than Caged Sun . Essentially, based of what I just stated, Gauntlet of Power is better (and Gauntlet of Might is best - less again XD).

in addition to the Gauntlet effects, you could add in this little series of mana rocks. Mind Stone can replace Fellwar Stone , for reasons stated previously, but then on top of that, there is Hedron Archive , which can draw you 2 cards, and Dreamstone Hedron draws 3. I don't really think that the two expensive ones really conform to the deck as well, but they're still considerations, I guess.

So, most of these cards aren't really that exciting. Avatar of Fury is pretty solid, but doesn't really interact with Purphoros much, apart from being a creature...

Guttersnipe definitely doen't fit in. You're running 23 spells, and I'd say that you'd need to run closer to 40 spells to consider him.

Young Pyromancer is just in the list because of my own personal thoughts on him, and I don't really think he's that fantastic in a "creature etb" deck like purphoros . He does make tokens, so all your spells essentially have +2 damage to opponents, but again, there are only 23 spells in the deck. If it was something more like Zada, Hedron Grinder , where he relies on going wide with creatures, that's a little different.

Devastating Summons is also kind of dodgy in this deck. You sacrifice some lands for 2 creatures. I'd much rather sacrifice X lands for X creatures .

Now, don't get me wrong. This deck is a burn deck, but normal burn spells, such as Sizzle are not very good. This is commander, where each player gets 40 life. Burning with 3 damage from such effects will take ages, and there's only so many unique ones. You're best off replacing it with something that will further your gamestate, such as kiki-jiki , Panharmonicon or Impact Tremors .

Mass Mutiny is kind of fine. The problem with it is that it's only one creature, when you could take every creature , without targetting. This means that your opponent can't protect their creatures from getting stolen without using countermagic. Also, stated above, Insurrection + Mogg Infestation is an almost guaranteed game-winning play, which can't really be done with just 3 more creatures.

Scour from Existence is unconditional removal that gets past Avacyn , but is really quite expensive - 7 mana to exile a creature. If it really requires this to get rid of it, you've messed something up...

Conjurer's Closet is kind of alright, but it's really not that fantastic. You would be best taking it out for a tutor, such as Goblin Matron , Imperial Recruiter or Gamble . These cards will help you find more stuff, like kiki-jiki , SG Commander or others that will be just as, if not more, effective than whoever is already in play.

Endless Atlas is fine, if you want to pay so much mana just to draw a couple of cards. I use Mind's Eye , which may be more expensive to cast, but it's cheaper to draw, and also can draw more than just 1 card each turn.

Madblind Mountain is interesting, but not necessary. It does let you shuffle your library (for whatever reason), but apart from that, it's just a slowland. You can tutor it up with a panorama, but what does it actually contribute to?

Spirits on Budget Xenagos, God of Revels - EDH $50

Armed // Dangerous another CMC2 Double Strike, $0.21. Downside is it's Sorcery.

Archetype of Aggression, gives all your creatures Trample, $0.39. 6 ground + 4 flying (partial evasion) don't have trample, thats 1/2 your available hitters, including 1 infect.

Gruul Signet, CMC2 Rock, $0.30.

Thud, Another Fling for CMC1 but Sorcery speed unfortunately, $0.20. Really need more Soul's Fire to Infect.

Farseek, CMC2 Ramp!!, $0.27.

Flameblast Dragon won't get his doubled. Timing is off.

Slagstorm scary because it wipes out the dorks, but I understand the thinking, with Cats/Snakes/Vampires.

Arbor Elf, CMC1 Dork, $0.26.

Beastcaller Savant, CMC2, But he has Haste, $0.40 though.

Heart Warden, annoying at CMC2, but can draw a card if late in the game if he's a dead draw, $0.20. Modular is sometimes nice, especially in longer games.

Explore might work pretty well with 40 lands, and it draws a card, so maintains your card-advantage and ramp advantage. I also feel you have quite a bit (too many) lands with all the additional ramp/dorks you have? Might try 38 instead.

Thunderfoot Baloth $1.69, but has trample, with Xenagos is 14 Trample, and gives all other creatures Trample. The best of the Trample enablers mentioned for sure.

Deus of Calamity $1.40, only 6/6 trample, but fills your Xenagos, God of Revels devotion, so he really enables a 6/5 Indestructible attacker as well.

Tyrant's Familiar feels better than a Flameblast Dragon ($1.28), because he can potentially blow away a flying blocker, $0.44.

Fyndhorn Elves ($2.03) can free up some cash for a Thunderfoot Baloth if he's an Arbor Elf $0.26.

Sakura-Tribe Elder ($1.25) is really good, but a Farseek can be effective $0.27, free up $1

Artisan of Kozilek he is 10/9 (20/19 with Xenagos), Returns a creature from your graveyard to the battlefield (not hand), and has Annihilator 2 (Opponent sacrifices 2 permanents, with haste from Xenagos) for $0.43. I have lots of this guy, I'll bring you one.

Maybe with some shuffling of mana sources you can free up cash for Malignus, but he's quite expensive. Tough for budget.

Fierce Empath tutoring Atarka, World Render or Soul of the Harvest or Siege Behemoth or Spinebiter Etc. gives consistency, I feel like its doubling your Atarka, World Render chances.

Phyrexian Hydra another Infect guy. Makes it easier to kill 3 players.

Khenra Charioteer more trample, hes a 3/3 so he's not shabby for CMC3. Probably don't need that much anyway.

Life's Legacy could re-populate your hand and stabilize your life. Feel like the cards better than the double life on Predator's Rapport.

Talisman of Impulse best non- non- mana source available for $0.33.

Explosive Vegetation is good, but $0.92 and CMC4, I'm not sure. Might look for another lower CMC one to ramp a little faster for that $. Go a bit faster.

I haven't seen this one work yet, See the Unwritten and at $0.82, I'd probably just draw another creature like a Artisan of Kozilek. If you get lucky and the stars align, maybe you get 2, but one might be an Elf. I'd rather just draw another key creature, instead of the randomness. If it was CMC5 or CMC4 and casting a CMC8 maybe, but it's CMC6 probably casting a CMC6 or lower (based on probability, I can calculate it when I have some more time)

Living Hive is in Main and Maybeboard.

I only like Momentous Fall (too expensive $), Deus of Calamity (enables Xenagos), Kavu Predator could be interesting in our Pod (vs cats/vamps anyway). Malignus if you can budget him in. Steel Hellkite good utility again CMC0 Snakes/Vampires for example. Thunderfoot Baloth.

Don't like anything else there.

I think, less lands -2 perhaps, cheaper ramp (and maybe 1 more), 1 more creature (infect guy preferably), reallocate some cash to make sure each creature is a finisher, like Avatar of Fury is kind of blah, if you can cast for 2 he's ok, but what you doing with the other mana that turn anyway, would rather pay the 6 for a finisher. Siege Dragon feels a little underpowered too, but can board wipe (cats/vamps/snakes), would rather use Steel Hellkite instead, better control, lower CMC.

Inquisitor's Flail not sure equip is right, but it is only equip so maybe? Rancor instead?

Living Hive feels small for CMC8! Wtf, not sure what your doing with the 1/1 insects, that don't even fly.

That's about all I have for now +1.

CaptSillva on Vial smasher + Kraum. Grixis control

Hey nice I run a deck kind of like this myself maybe you could get some inspiration from my version Vial Smasher & Kraum EDH.

For the short version here are some cards I think you could use Avatar of Fury, Avatar of Woe, Curtains' Call, Mulldrifter, Shriekmaw, and Deep-Sea Kraken.
