Since both Ankle Shanker and Caesar, Legion's Emperor trigger on attacking their controller can put them on the stack in whatever order they choose.

Haste can be useful even if the tokens come in tapped and attacking. The most obvious interaction in these colors is with extra combat spells. Breath of Fury with Caesar and a way to prevent your tokens from being blocked is infinite combats.

If a player attacks with both Ankle Shanker and Caesar, Legion's Emperor, can that player stack the abilities of those creatures in such a way that the shanker grants first strike and deathtoucch to the tokens that Caesar produces?

As a bonus question, why do the tokens that Caesar generates has haste if they enter the battlefield attacking? Is that not redundant?

No prob! Isshin is one of my favorite commanders, he's a lot of fun to play.

Although it is also a combat damage trigger like the Ancient Dragons, I do recommend Professional Face-Breaker. At 3 cmc, she's much more accessible, & she rewards you for going wide, which most Isshin decks tend to want to do. She compliments the Treasure production you already have in your deck.

No worries, totally understandable. My meta tends to lean more aggro & Go-Wide, so Goad stuff feels like it gets more mileage in that context. Mass Goad feels like it buy a turn by deflecting aggro away, & leaves everyone else more open to subsequent attacks since attackers are tapped out. The times I've played Breena, she tends to get huge, & the rest of the table tries to benefit from her as much as possible. Breena can also load up +1/+1 counters on Krenko and Anim Pakal.

I meant to add in my last comment, but I think Sun Titan or Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher could be potential replacements for Kroxa and Kunoros. K&K need a deeper investment into your graveyard to benefit from them.

Ankle Shanker and Vault of the Archangel could also be worth a look as death touch anthems. Ankle Shanker was replaced by Taunt from the Ramparts in my deck, but first strike & deathtouch are hard to pass up. Shanker is good on its own without needing Isshin.

1: Crypt Ghast is my #1 choice, because I love mono black.

2: Ankle Shanker is a must for me. I want that deathtouch vigilance firststrike deck soo bad.

3: Bloodlord of Vaasgoth, I love Vampires.

4: Bloodline Keeper  ^Flip... same

5: Arena Rector, monowhite super friends.

6: Consecrated Sphinx draw cards

7: Demon of Death's Gate would be super fun to cheat out without cmdr tax over and over again.

8: Lord of the Void would be fun plus demons are a favorite tribe of mine

9: High Priest of Penance, indestructible combos, control the board and pillow fort up

10: Sunblast Angel. A board wipe in the command zone that makes your opponents think twice about attacking.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions! I took a look at your Isshin deck build and it's looking fantastic!

I added a few minor swaps, most notably Chromatic Orrery to help the mana flow a bit. But I LOVE the Ankle Shanker swap, I don't know how that card slipped my radar!

I think in general I'm heading for the go-wide tokens theming, and I hope The Master, Multiplied and eventually Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation  ^Flip will help with that tremendously.

Generally speaking, I think Caesar and token Isshin lists will end up having a lot of similarities. In looking at your list, I have a few suggestions:

• I think it would be worth it to add some more board protection like Reconnaissance, Dolmen Gate, and Iroas, God of Victory. Having an instant speed protection option or two like Unbreakable Formation, Clever Concealment, Scapegoat, or Teferi's Protection are all helpful for dodging board wipes. These type of go-wide aggro strats thrive on maintaining as much of their board presence in tact for momentum.

• Mentor of the Meek could potentially be swapped with Chivalric Alliance as another draw option. Similarly, you could swap a land for Minas Tirith as another draw option.

• Speaking of lands, Vault of the Archangel could be helpful to have for its keyword anthems. It can be used on those big aggro swings, or to threaten against crack back, if you left blockers up. Similarly, Ankle Shanker can spice up those swings.

• Breath of Fury could open up some combo potential, especially with how many different effects you have that produce tokens on attack.

• I'd recommend giving Flowering of the White Tree a look as an anthem and protection piece.

• It could be worth swapping out Bedevil for either Stroke of Midnight or Anguished Unmaking as more versatile options at the same cmc, and aren't as color cost intensive.

I hope these suggestions are helpful. Caesar is likely going to find a home in my Isshin deck, come next March. I'm hoping we get a decent NCR Ranger in the precon.
