"2 or less" doesn't always feel like it.

Grenzo has an interesting bit of decision-making to be made, what with the {X} in his mana cost and all. Pay for as much as you can afford, have him show up big and buff, and then have potential access to more creatures depending on his size. But why bother with all that? Just play Grenzo for a simple {B}{R} and run with that - lean and mean, without worrying about spending turn after turn ramping!

The thing is, how can you really expect to mess your opponents up when all of the creatures you're scoring have 2 or less power? Scathe Zombies don't exactly strike fear into a man's heart. Well, the thing is, some creatures claim to have 2 or less power when you ask 'em, but they must be cheating on their taxes because they show up swinging a whole lot harder. For instance, Clockwork Dragon is a twerpy little 0/0 when he's in your library or graveyard, but as soon as he pops into play, he's a big bad 6/6 flyer. Whoa!

You're aiming to get a ton of value for cheap by running all sorts of creatures who have 2 or less base power but can accomplish a lot, whether due to secretly being larger or just having nice abilities. Exactly half of the deck is creatures, meaning you should expect to score something with every other activation, although cards like Reito Lantern, Tel-Jilad Stylus and Crystal Ball should help you control what's on the bottom of your library somewhat.

You've got critters that are larger than they appear, such as Noosegraf Mob, Arcbound Overseer and Drakestown Forgotten, those who can act as removal, including Bone Shredder, Ravenous Chupacabra and Duplicant, and those who just have great abilities despite their size, such as Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Crypt Ghast and Siege-Gang Commander.
