  1. Don't play Borderposts. They offer no benefit for you, but opponent may destroy them with artifact hate. You also risk having an opening hand without basic lands, making them unplayable. Play Arcane Sanctum and Jungle Shrine instead.
  2. Add 2 Elspeth, Knight-Errant. It gives you an evasion against repeated blockers such as Sprouting Thrinax and also can itself provide repeated blockers. The +3+/+3 bonus doubles with Rafiq and Finest Hour.
  3. Your sideboard is bad. There is no reason to play Call to Heel when you can play Hindering Light. You don't have any enters-the-battlefield effects, so you never want to return your own creatures to hand when you can leave them on the battlefield. You have no answer to the Martial Coup.
  4. Check Cascade - Shards of Alara Block - an actual constructed deck from that era. It would destroy you hard with all the card advantage. Your deck also has problems with instant removal, since you always attack with only one creature.

Hey UltimateRoxas40!

I had the same thing, I just kept looking for that Jund deck that could scratch my graveyard itch. I tried Ziatora first but it was a bit lackluster, though in this deck it's an absolute beast. The deck has been an absolute blast to play since it just works out differently every time. The other day I killed the table with 18 damage from Cavalier of Flame dieing. Another game I won with the classic Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Lord of Extinction doing 48 damage. And another I just won with Bladewing, Deathless Tyrant and zombie tokens swarming the board.

Like it says in the primer my group has kind of avoided infinites for the most part. I've even ended up cutting Dockside Extortionist since it almost always could go infinite when it appeared. But if you intend to run some infinites I'd pitch Dockside Extortionist, Sprouting Thrinax, Pitiless Plunderer, Ruthless Technomancer and maybe also include Ashnod's Altar in addition to Phyrexian Altar(Which is already in) for infinite mana. Though for infinites I'd almost lean more into an aristocrats build rather than the stompy creatures since there's so much value to be had there.

I've considered Etali, Primal Conqueror  Flip briefly but it never made the cut because stealing wasn't something I was after with this deck (I already have 2 decks with quite a few steal effects in them) and I felt that the flip cost was too expensive compared to throwing in something big and dumb like Ghalta, Primal Hunger. Though admittedly I might give Etali a look again because Ghoulcaller Gisa has been kind of dissapointing, so the new Etali might get to fill that slot instead.

Okay, 9-lives, I answered Lhurgyof's challenge: "Let's try a common or uncommon fortification (Darksteel Garrison is currently the only fortification)."

Then Stardragon was ninja'd, so I forwarded their challenge: "make a commander that can abuse death effects like Kokusho, the Evening Star or Sprouting Thrinax"

This is the current challenge.

9-lives, It's just like Equipment. In every possible way, except it equips lands, not creatures.

Wirewood Barracks

Artifact - Fortification

Fortified Land has ", : Create a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token."

Equip

Stardragon's Challenge was "make a commander that can abuse death effects like Kokusho, the Evening Star or Sprouting Thrinax"

Rith probably isn't the best saproling commander. I think you just lose too much value being unable to play AEther Mutation, Ghave, Guru of Spores, Slimefoot, the Stowaway, Sprouting Thrinax, and Supply / Demand. Lifegain always seems like a good idea, but it just adds in the extra step of having to find a way to win the game. If you load up on Blood Artist effects in black and WB, that gives you a better way to affect opponents than hitting a critical mass of creatures to deal 120 combat damage. You also miss Arcane Adaptation, Xenograft, and Conspiracy by not playing black and blue, which seem good.

Personally, I would either go with Karona, False God or Tana, the Bloodsower+Tymna the Weaver.

As for general card replacements, the ramp package is where I see the most room for improvement that is easy on the budget. I highly recommend taking your cues from Dana Roach's EDHREC article on green land ramp.

In general, I would lean away from auras, with the possible exception of Verdant Embrace- there are a few cards like that missing, so I'd check out the saproling cards on Scryfall. That would also be the place to look for tribal cards, although you can also see the most popular ones on the general tribal page and saproling tribal page at EDHREC.

BX223Hunter, that dude is probably my favorite dude out of left field, ever. He enables SO MUCH jank its not even funny. Devour is just the beginning. Since I'm commenting I'll make sure you see my deck list: Tana and Reyhan Partner Token Stuff and in my list alone he may as well be a hidden commander, he is THAT powerful when he comes down and I have any sort of board presence. Super important thing to note is that he cares when ANYONE sacrifices a PERMANENT, not just you and not just creatures :D

To your question about Sprouting Thrinax, I tend to dislike one-shots even though in this style of deck, he's more like 4 sac fodders for 3 mana, which is fine but there are usually better things I'd want to do with the mana at any given time.
