The Lego Movie: the Tenth Anniversary

This year is the tenth anniversary of The Lego Movie, the first movie to be made featuring the Lego building system (actually, it is not, which I can discuss, later in this thread), and a most excellent movie, indeed. The Lego system has been around for several decades, but to have a movie based upon the system was an amazing experience, something that had never been seen, before, and many people enjoyed the movie, very much.

The Lego Movie has a fairly standard plot about rebelling against tyrannical authority and the conflict of individuality versus conformity, but it is fun and exciting adventure, with numerous inside jokes for longtime fans of the blocks; as an interesting piece of trivia, the word "Lego" is never actually spoken in the movie, itself, which is rather weird, considering that the movie has that word in it title. Each character has their own distinct personality and mannerisms (even Emmett, whose entire characterization is built on how utterly ordinary and forgettable he is), which helps to make the movie more entertaining, although I was rather disappointed by the major twist of the movie

and, as a side note, the family must have been fairly wealthy for the father to have a very large table on which he constructed an entire city of Lego blocks (as a child, I never fully appreciated how expensive Lego kits were and still are, but I certainly do, now), but I still appreciated the fact that the boy and his father reconciled and that the movie had a happy ending.

The Lego Movie was very popular and financially successful, so it naturally led to several sequels, including The Lego Batman Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, and The Lego Movie 2, although I have not heard any news about any further movies, beyond that, so I wonder if their brief popularity was only a fleeting moment of success, but I still enjoyed the movies, very much, and I am very glad that I watched them, and, as a side note, I can hardly believe that it has been an entire decade since The Lego Movie was released; how time flies!

What does everyone else say about this? How do you feel about this year being the tenth anniversary of The Lego Movie?

This is one I really want to finish. I've only seen the first half of The Lego Movie, and I kind of know how the ending works but not the details. Maybe more than half. I got as far as the start of the pirate ship scene (I think that's what it was). Without going into details, life got in the way, and I haven't taken the time to finish it, or just start it fresh.

Is it worth it?
