Dromoka Warrior

Creature — Human Warrior

Hey CommanderTheory. Came across this and the original post when I was looking at budget lists.

I think I may have been able to improve a few of its weaknesses while still keeping it on budget by incorporating cards from more recent sets:

Added cards from recent sets at 1 drop, 2 drop and 3 drop that are either functionally superior e.g Glory-Bound Initiate over Dromoka Warrior, offer recursion (Devoted Crop-Mate, Hallowed Spiritkeeper) or some form of card draw (Thraben Inspector, Bygone Bishop). Also added Oketra's Monument and Oketra the True to support the strategy.

Still weak to wraths and white's card draw weakness.

id recommend build all decks to 60 cards, also id say try not to run so many 1 ofs, if this was made from cards you had lying around its fine but if your trying to give it maximum potential and consistency run 4x if you can. when cutting cards get rid of the cards that dont help the strat of the deck. id be looking at Oreskos Swiftclaw and Dromoka Warrior. they are worriors and 3/1 for 2 is on par but if you could get you hands on another 3x Brutal Hordechief that would make the deck stronger and more consistant

this is a deck i made using random cards i have (casual play with mates) Zulaport Cutthroat is the main thing of the deck and i only have 2 so to shell this problem i put it in a agro deck with lots of low drop creatures and draw power, the only card that doesnt follow the nature of the deck is Glorybringer the reason he is in there is as a secondary win condition if playing small things and going wide isnt working. with your Oreskos Swiftclaw and Dromoka Warrior i feel they are more of just a space filler that could be better used card slots.

more on the theme of the deck Battle Mastery is a fantastic card but it realise being put on a scary creature to make it even more scary the biggest creature you have is a 4/4 that dies to Fatal Push

and im assuming that you are using the best removal cards that you could get your hands on because Reave Soul is actually a bad card i can see it with some use if you had a card that reduced power like Meishin, the Mind Cage but you have nothing of the likes.

one last thing is that you might want to consider adding some form of "draw power" pretty much any card that reads "draw a card" is good for you deck or "draw 2" or "whenever x happens draw a card" is best.

hope my rambling didnt bore you, if you have any questions feel free at ask :)

Guardians' Pledge is better than inspired charge. Daring Skyjek and Accorder Paladin are a more functional Dromoka Warrior and Kor Castigator. You might want to look into War Falcon and Loyal Pegasus.

Made a couple adjustments. Took out the Dragon Hunter and added one Inspiring Call, one Odric, Lunarch Marshal and one Dromoka Warrior. Also, got a few Enshrouding Mist for sideboard.

Hyper budget in EDH is a recipe for disaster. There are ways to pull it off, but usually only in more aggro decks. Your humans don't really have a lot of synergy, so I'm going to start by recommending what I would cut:
Expedition Envoy - ONLY used in aggro ally decks, borderline crap everywhere else.
Traveling Philosopher and Dromoka Warrior - They do nothing. In EDH, you want your creatures to generally have a power and an ability.
Heavy Infantry and Stern Constable - these are one off tap downs that put you at a disadvantage for the most part. With no graveyard retrieval, it is never wise to throw cards into the graveyard if it can be helped. Elite Scaleguard would be the best idea, even a Master of Diversion is better. They give you constant control over opponent's creatures. If you want to slow down aggro decks even more, Imposing Sovereign.
You have a few cantrip (spells that allow you to "draw a card") enchantments. They're not bad, and in green and white, you need all the card draw you can get, but there are better cards for this, as I'll explain below.

Recommendations:

You don't really have enough equipment to justify it, but Puresteel Paladin is a beast in voltron (decks that revolve around your commander) decks. If you want to go down the path of more equipment, a Stonehewer Giant or Stoneforge Mystic is very powerful.
I'm going to assume for the sake of this post you're looking into +1/+1 counters for your creatures. Here are the essentials for green/white: Managorger Hydra, Predator Ooze, Mikaeus, the Lunarch and Cathars' Crusade. These cards allow your creatures to become stronger the more you play spells and with hexproof, spot removal becomes difficult.

Card draw: Mentor of the Meek is a must if you want to continue with a creature heavy deck. Shamanic Revelation is good should your deck provide plenty of humans.

Tokens and +1/+1 counters: Doubling Season. Make a proxy or something, but make sure this card is in your deck. It will give your creatures so much more power, and your human tokens will double based on exiling one card. Hardened Scales is a more aggro card that only gives you one extra +1/+1 counter per creature, but escalation is key here.

Mana ramp: You're running green, but you have no way of ramping your mana sources. Cultivate, Explosive Vegetation, Skyshroud Claim and Exploration are some examples you can use. I would also put the land count up to 38. Mana starvation is the worst in green.

Your creature base: You have a lot of creatures. This gives you a huge advantage over some players. Tax decks are designed to slow down players quite heavily. Should you keep this part of your deck, Dragonlord Dromoka, Gaddock Teeg and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben are useful in slowing down your opponents.

At this point, I've exhausted myself in what I'd do to improve, but this should give you an idea of what cards can be useful for your deck.

I really like the basic build. I do, however, have 2 issues. You seem to be able to do nothing with clues except pay 2 mana to draw 1 card. I really think that Dromoka Captain or Dromoka Warrior would add more vale than Thraben Inspector. Secondly, only 18 lands will just not cut it - I suggest losing Second Harvest and Ulvenwald Mysteries, which you will only ever be able to play late in the game for little effect and going full-out mono-white aggro with a minimum of 21 lands.

Alternatively, try to speed up your mana growth with 2 of something like Weirding Wood, but drop 1 Chaplain's Blessing and 1 each of 3 creatures to add some more Plains

magnetcrocodile on Lithomancer Focus and Trample interaction

Let's say I have a Dromoka Warrior on my side of the field and the opponent has the dreaded Reality Smasher on his side of the field. He attack, I block with my 3/1 and cast Lithomancer's Focus on it. Since it prevent all damage dealt, does Reality Smasher can assign the leftovers trample damage(2 points) to me or does my warrior soak up all the damage?

Nice build little brother.

Sol Ring is banned in Tiny Leaders.

Cutable:
Ajani's Mantra - doesn't help you win.
Narrow Escape - cards like Cloudshift dodge targeted removal and can abuse ETB abilities.
Abzan Advantage - Not much of advantage at all. The upside to this card is that your opponent doesn't actually need to have an enchantment in play if you realllllly need to Bolster 1.
Lightwalker - Being dependent on another card to be good usually isn't. Dudes like Aven Sunstriker or Burrenton Bombardier or Emancipation Angel or Kor Skyfisher are all solid choices if you're trying to take the fight to the Sky.
Dromoka Warrior - Vanilla.
Lone Missionary - Not horrible, but could be something else... Doomed Traveler is always good.
Fleetfeather Sandals - Better as a solid flyer. Haste for 2 never feels hasty to me. Lightning Greaves would be good.
Sword of the Animist - Too slow for this format. Think about it. t1, you play a one drop. t2, this equipment. t3, equip your 1 drop. Swing with your 2/2 attacking into whatever I have had 2-3 turns to set up, which at the very least will be a Doom Blade.

Suggestions:
Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile and to a lesser extent Condemn are White's best removal cards.
Journey to Nowhere, Quarantine Field and Oblivion Ring are also sweet. Q-Field and O-Ring get rid of damn near anything.
Contagion Clasp would be a lot of fun here.
Honor the Pure is a historically strong White Weenie choice.
Nevermore can lock your opponent's Tiny Leader out of the game. If they are playing Red, Black or both, they are going to have to accept that fact.
