No actual leaks in the thread, people!

Where to find...

Kudo, King Among Bears seems pretty fun, although I hope there's going to be more bear kindred support. Since he affects all creatures, stuff like Alpha Status and OG Norn works. And They Shall Know No Fear is Heroic Intervention at home, and Roaming Throne works for all of your creatures. Go-wide tokens seems like it would work, as would 0/0 creatures like Kalonian Hydra. Might be worth looking into the EDHREC cards for the two selesnya cat legends from Lost Caverns of Ixalan?

Herigast, Erupting Nullkite Kinda feel like an Emerge commander would be black and/or green instead? IDK how to abuse this either, red doesn't have that many good "overcosted" creatures like Avatar of Fury.

Null Elemental Blast: yeah this is really good in EDH, where every random utility land taps for .

Final Act: playable experience counter hate in EDH.

Looks like the Blue Tron sickos (it's me, I'm sickos) are eating good from these previews.

Cthonian Nightmare also seems like it must be busted in Modern. If we get a Priest of Gix snuck in with the old card slot or a functional equivalent a new graveyard deck should take off. Stitcher's Supplier into Nightmare seems like it should Go Off.

Also with Horizons sets adding first-printing-in-Commander cards like Kess and Laelia, it really bothers me to have new, non-Modern legal cards in the MH3 Commander decks. Or just... having the M3C decks at all.

I presume that Nulldrifter's card drawing ability is a cast trigger and not an enters-the-battlefield trigger to prevent players from abusing it, as they can with Mulldrifter?

But that makes it rife for a whole new level of abuse. In my Magic Christmas Land, I get to Dress Down on my opponent's end step and then Evoke Nulldrifter which means I get to draw cards because of the cast trigger but not have to sacrifice it. And maybe kill a Territorial Kavu in the process.

Here's hoping for Null versions of Subtlety's cycle, sure that will work out great this time

How is Planar Nexus any different from Nearby Planet?

Crow_Umbra says... #9

Planar Nexus enters untapped & doesn't need an additional payment from another land to stick around. Nexus also has the upside of color filtering/fixing.

Arcades is getting a 0/12 vanilla defender for four, not bad

Basking Broodscale: this surely goes infinitive with a lot of things, e.g. Rosie Cotton of South Lane

Forgot about Scurry Oak which is obviously very similar, but Basking Broodscale doesn't need another card to make a token, goes infinitive with e.g. Blade of the Bloodchief and can produce infinitive colorless mana

Given that you can get Blade with Stoneforge Mystic and Urza's Saga I think the odds are 100% there's a week or two of everyone trying out a GW shell with Basking Broodscale. I've also seen Sadistic Glee pointed out to make it a Pauper player.

Finally

Coram: Kagha, Shadow Archdruid on (red) steroids, but as she's AFAIK not too popular I feel that's not saying too much. Only on your turns. Worth noting that e.g. Hermit Druid works too.

Cayth, Famed Mechanist: "I have no idea who you are." Anyway, all your creature spells coming with a free token or even counter probably has some combo potential, even if Cloudstone Curio is out.

Azlask the Swelling Scourge: Spawning Pit works well here.

Ulalek, Fused Atrocity: Dimensional Infiltrator's time to shine!

Disa the Restless: I dare you to cast Mnemonic Betrayal

Omo, Queen of Vesuva: Not just "changeling counter" since it needs to cover both creatures and land. I kinda wish the counters had their own intrinsic rules, like flying counters. Note that land creatures don't get pseudo-changeling.

Kozilek, the Broken Reality: Does a card that you need to pay nine mana for really need even a minor drawback?

Sorin of House Markov: first extort commander!

Ral, Monsoon Mage: Not a fan of the flip damage. Can't red just have their own reliable Baral, Chief of Compliance?

Volatile Stormdrake: Nerfed Gilded Drake is still pretty good; plenty of high-value creatures at MV <=4. A sorcery-speed kill spell that pierces indestructible isn't horrible either (especially if it has a good on-death trigger.)

Flare of Fortitude: kinda wish this was Flare of Angel's Grace instead.

Trickster's Elk: I kinda hate this? IIRC, Kenrith's Transformation was a break, or at least a strong bend due to time constraints.

"Everything Counter" is terminology that is taking me out of the game whenever I think about it.

It's a little funny to me that while this set has to carry water for Commander like every set has to, the new Eldrazi titans are not designed for multiplayer. Target player, target opponent, up to two target players. Hope someone doesn't get fired over that oversight.

Bloodbraid Challenger being an M3C exclusive bothers me. I can sort of forgive the wonky "This specific execution of a mechanic needs a commander or we'll never hear the end of it on twitter" designs being in M3C, but Bloodbraid Elf has a pedigree in competitive magic, has already had a callback in Bloodbraid Marauder, but now this callback is arbitrarily locked out of Modern.
