Will there Ever Be a Reboot of Captain Planet?

Many classic animated series from the 1980’s and 1990’s have been rebooted in recent years, so I think that the time is now appropriate for a reboot of Captain Planet, especially since it is now more critical than ever that people make an effort to conserve the environment.

I enjoyed Captain Planet during my childhood, even if I now realize as an adult that some parts of it were very corny and campy (as was very often the case for animated series during that time), but its messages of environmentalism are still as relevant, today, as they were, originally, although I do hope that a potential reboot of the series would not be quite as heavy-handed in the delivery of such messages as was the original series.

What does everyone else say about this? Will there ever be a reboot of Captain Planet?

If there's money to be made anything is possible. It had a decent run with 6 seasons - so I think it could get a movie reboot.

Who needs a full blow reboot when we have a masterpiece like this?

If I recall right theres an issue with who owns the rights. I could be wrong but I remember watching a youtbe video about it. But personally I'd rather see gargoyles get a second run

It would probably come off as horrifically ham-fisted; in general, I am anti-reboot. I'd rather take the nostalgic wonder of considering how a continuation might be, considering the track record of remakes in the modern era.

A modern day Captain Planet couldn't be done today with the information we know about.

A cartoon character who tells kids, "Hold corporations accountable. It doesn't matter how much plastic you, personally, get your family to recycle unless you rein in PepsiCo, Nestle, and Coca-Cola, who produce 64-70% of all branded plastic pollution. By themselves. Burn them down, re-take the planet."

That simply wouldn't get made, lol.

Grubbernaut, I can understand that, since, as much as I would like to see a reboot of Gargoyles, I worry that such a remake simply would not be the same as the original (the reboot of Reboot was an insult to the original, in my opinion), but some reboots have been great, such as the reboots of He-Man and Thundercats in the early-to-mid-2000's, so a reboot of Captain Planet could work, if it was well-written and well-executed.

I just can't imagine the subject matter being done in an eloquent way, in the modern era. It'd be a magnet for artificial controversy and just seems messy, to me.

PookandPie, Grubbernaut, what is so different now, compared to then? If anyone is offended, let them be, and they simply do not need to watch the series.
