Torpor Orb and Murktide Regent

A friend and I were discussing how Torpor Orb affects Murktide Regent. He said the orb prevents it from entering with counters. I said it wouldn’t because it’s some sort of replacement effect tied to the the delve. Who is right?

You are correct; triggered abilities use the words "when", "whenever", or "at". "Enters with" is a replacement effect like you assumed.
