Copying Vesuvian Shapeshifter

So, I have a Vesuvan Shapeshifter on the battlefield, and I have Clever Impersonator in my hand. If I were to copy the shapeshifter, I know that it would copy the card it is copying, but can I turn it face down? And if I can, can I turn it face up as a Vesuvan Shapeshifter?

'It' referring to Clever Impersonator entering the battlefield as Vesuvan Shapeshifter.

DeathChant17, that is surprisingly redundant, yes. Thank you for the answer, because my friend said that it was copying the original creature, not the Shapeshifter.

Yes. It copies the Vesuvan Shapeshifter, including the ability that will trigger on your upkeep and the morph ability.
You can turn it face up as Vesuvan Shapeshifter, but as it entered as that, isn't that redundant?
