Can I sacrifice Tangle Wire on my upkeep?

If I have Tangle Wire and Osgir, the Reconstructor in play. Can I sacrifice Tangle Wire after my untap step, to bypass tapping my permanents for the fading counters?

No, it won't work out that way. The first opportunity you have to take an action after your turn starts is at the beginning of your upkeep. At that point, both of Tangle Wire's abilities (Fading and the tapping ability) have already triggered, and sacrificing Tangle Wire won't get rid of them.

If you don't already know, there's a trick to make sure you're tapping a lot fewer permanents than your opponents each round. When your upkeep begins, since Tangle Wire's abilities are trying to go onto the stack at the same time and you control them both, you get to decide the order to put them onto the stack. You can order them so the fading counter is removed first, then you choose Tangle Wire itself as one of the things to tap. For example: if you just played Tangle Wire on your last turn then your opponent(s) had to tap 4 things, but you'll only end up tapping 2 things besides Tangle Wire itself when your turn comes back around.
