Workhorse Infinity Combo- looking for better alternatives

Workhorse - remove +1/+1 counters, get mana.

it comes with 4 counters which is perfect.

Animation module: remove 3 counters from workhorse, tap, put a new +1/+1 counter on workhorse.

animation module effect triggers, remove that counter from the workhorse (down from 2/2 to 1/1) to pay for 1 generic, get a 1/1 servo token.

now decoction module triggers when the servo enters the battlefield and you get an energy counter.

now fabrication module triggers and gives a +1/+1 counter to workhorse.

now animation module triggers again, you remove 1 counter from workhorse to get 1 mana, pay the module, get another servo token.

and now the modules keep triggering for infinity, you get 1 million servo tokens to win the game.

Now my question: is there a better alternative to WorkhorseI tried morselhoarder but it uses -1/-1 coutners, sadly. so that is not an option. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hangarback Walker may work for getting +1/+1's.

Mana Flare and Earthcraft work, Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar won't give you tokens but still give you counters (the prior will give infinite mana as well). Carnival of Souls and any Soul Warden type card works. Angelic Chorus and Channel, Beckcall and Skirge Familiar, Infinite Reflection and Derevi, Empyrial Tactician, Intruder Alarm and a mana dork, Devoted Druid. Those are probably the best options, but anything that uses toughness or creatures to make mana really.

Hm those cards are not what I am looking for.

The thing with Workhorse is that it does not need any other card.(which keeps it a 4-card-combo)

You can just remove 3 counters and use Animation Module to start the whole infinite combo.

Devoted Druid looks good, but sadly it has summoning sickness, so it will not tap right away. Then again, I should get some haste anthem for the servos anyways. This one is decent.

I'll keep the Workhorse for now. Sadly, Mishra's Workshop is banned in Legacy. It would be a turn 3 win with that thing.

Harashiohorn Triskelion doesn't generate mana, so it can't keep the loop going.

I found the alternative to Workhorse you want! Now, you can start the combo on turn 5 instead of turn 6, and best of all: It's Modern legal! I present to you: Krark-Clan Ironworks

I just saw Crystalline Crawler from the C16 spoilers and thought, yep, that's a turn 4 legacy legal mana generator replacing workhorse.

Turn 1-3: modules, turn 4 Crawler > infinite tokens > simian spirit guide > Burst of Speed > Turn 4 kill
