Hi All I am trying to find a way to beat one of the players in my group. He plays some frightening decks with insane amounts of +1 counters and it seems, that no matter how many of his creatures I take out, he always has ways to put new ones in, also with loads of counters. Is there any special cards I can use to counter his counters? I am relatively new to mtg having played just over 1½ years, so please help me out.

Solemnity won't make you loved at the table, but it does exactly what you ask.

Thief of Blood seems way more fun though.

I would be careful adding hate pieces specifically to deal with certain decks. It generally makes people salty to see things appear that are specifically to ruin their fun. If you could narrow down the scope of what they are doing (is it tokens with lots of counters, hydras, big dudes getting bigger, etc.) as well as the colors of your deck; we may be able to provide some generally good cards that could help you deal with what they are doing without making them feel targeted.

Something like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite can check small creatures before they get counters, or there are also boardwipes that scale with the table like Massacre Girl

You also could go for defensive measures, something like Ensnaring Bridge

Or Meekstone, or Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, or blinking a Suncleanser, or....

The new Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider will shut his counters down or severely slow him down. Can also be used as a mono green commander, with counter and or super friends theme.

There is also Vampire Hexmage.

Just doing a quick look at some of your decks, it also appears you are fairly light on removal across in several of them. None of your white decks, for example, run Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares - cards which are so hyper-efficient they’re essentially auto-includes.

Undervaluing removal also tends to be a table problem, particularly if your other players are new like yourself. This might be a problem everyone at your table should fix by adding more kill spells to their decks, since the responsibility of stopping the then-current most powerful player in a Commander game is a shared responsibility.

+1/+1 counters means nothing to goad. Just go Kardur, Doomscourge or Marisi, Breaker of the Coil on him & let his creatures go ham on everyone else... just groupslug enough to clean up.

Then you don't have to worry about controlling growing creatures.. Unless he has a lot of lifegain subtheme.
