Dictate of Erebos

Enchantment

Flash

Whenever a creature you control dies, each opponent sacrifices a creature.

neat deck! I usually like running Grave Pact over Dictate of Erebos because it's cheaper and there's not usually a good opportunity to flash in something for 5 mana

The first card I thought of that you may want to include is Tendershoot Dryad, although it's pretty pricy. Since this is a deck that makes tokens and wants to kill opponents' creatures, I also think Grave Pact or Dictate of Erebos would be good includes, although extremely annoying for others to deal with. If you want any win-condition cards, something like Overrun, Beastmaster Ascension, or even the overplayed Craterhoof Behemoth could cut it.

I have a similar build, and love navigating Mari. Opponents never see her coming. I don't run Dauthi though, as it's counter-productive to Mari's hit counters. Maybe think of Ravenloft Adventurer, as hit counters still count with removal even without Mari on the board. I also run Dictate of Erebos, Necropotence, Bitterblossom, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse for the extra removal and recursion bonus.

Have fun when you do build it, it's a blast!

Sure thing! Bloodchief Ascension & Mindcrank create an infinite mill and damage cycle.

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed & Triskelion create an infinite damage cycle where you remove counters from him to do 1 damage to a player & the rest to kill himself. Then he is returned to the battlefield and you repeat. This also works with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed & Walking Ballista, but he needs a third card like Zulaport Cutthroat or Blood Artist to create the infinite cycle of damage/life gain. If you can’t get one of those two cards, Grave Pact or Dictate of Erebos will create infinite sacrifice cycles. Then you could also create infinite Eldrazi tokens/treasures with either Pitiless Plunderer or Pawn of Ulamog.

Next is the Ashnods alter & Pitiless Plunderer combos with either Bloodsoaked Champion or Reassembling Skeleton that can infinitely sacrifice to create infinite colorless mana for cards like Exsanguinate.

Finally if you have Sensei's Divining Top, Bolas's Citadel, & Sheoldred, the Apocalypse you can draw a card with Sensei’s, gain 2 life, then pay 1 life to cast Sensei’s, and repeat until you can find a combo while gaining life with each draw.

Hope this helps!

wideline1414 I typically get Teysa, Orzhov Scion out early for value and creature exile. The only silver bullet I have is Necrotic Sliver. I count Elspeth, Sun's Champion, Grave Pact, and Dictate of Erebos as mass removal.

I have consider running some more in hand instant speed stuff. Sudden Spoiling has put in so much work for me over the years. I know its not removal but I have a Teferi's Protection in a deck that I do not play much.

In my meta this deck has pulled off a lot of come from behind wins.

Cool deck! I think Blade of the Bloodchief goes amazing with this commander, and edict effects like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos do wonders do keep opponents' boards clear for your commander go swing through.

Black Market nets you a ton of mana over a couple turns, and Greed is excellent card draw for black. Vampiric Rites would also work great and gives u a (kinda) free sac outlet.

overall, really neat deck, kinda wanna build vampires again now 'u'

Profet93- Thanks for the upvote and for asking!

Boardwipes are a problem for any deck that requires a board state. As there are few spells to truly combat boardwipes in mono black, this deck accepts that inevitability, and takes it a step further to exploit its own low toughness of the creatures, to squeeze as much benefit as we can from it.

Zulaport Cutthroat makes a nice aristocratic win, while Elixir gives another shot at a Thrumming Stone play, should a board wipe be limited to creatures. Both Grim Haruspex and Species Specialist allow for a hand refill should your board disappear, and the Elixir keeps your library full.

Ogre Slumlord replaces your nontoken rats with 1/1 rats, while also counting your opponents' dying critters, giving you ALL the rats, for a go-wide win.

Early game, hitting early and aggressively with 3/1 - 5/1 creatures puts you within win range around t6 with some form of modified evasion on a single creature (Rogue's Passage, Whispersilk Cloak, fear from Marrow-Gnawer, and either gravepact or Dictate of Erebos, or the zulaport cutthroat on the board.

Hope I could clear that up, if you have any more questions or suggestions, please feel free to comment further!
